Carmen, BMC, 2006 : The set for Carmen was three basic units, two curved walls and a tall curved staircase, rearranged for each scene. For Act III, the smuggler's lair, we turned the units around and exposed the structure of the walls and stairs..all painted black. The chorus climbed over and down the walls for their entrance and hid inside them to sleep.
